Who We Are…
We’re a small family with a simple belief: food should be pure, safe, and grown with intention. Tayyib Crops began as a quiet effort to grow chemical-free food for our own children. But the real story started much earlier—with our Dad.
Years ago, our father transformed our terrace into a lush garden, growing a variety of vegetables and planting fruit trees around the house—so his children and grandchildren could enjoy clean, chemical-free food straight from home.
It was his quiet mission of love.

After our mother passed away, he gradually slowed down. The once-thriving garden shrank to a few pots. He still watered them, still cared—but the spark wasn’t the same.
Then our kids began to grow up. Seasons changed. And slowly, his interest returned—on and off, depending on age, energy, and mood. But since the fruits and vegetables were seasonal and often limited in quantity, we couldn’t really think about sharing them with others—at least not yet.
Around that time, we stumbled upon something unexpected: Mushrooms !!!
How It All Started…
Mushrooms are known as a superfood, and we were curious. But we soon realized that buying them from just any source didn’t feel right.

So, instead of purchasing mushrooms directly, we decided to try something different—we bought a few ready-to-fruit beds from a local farm.
To be honest, the setup there wasn’t ideal—ants marching across the racks, a few beds bitten by rats, and an overall unhygienic environment. Still, for testing purposes, we picked the cleanest three beds and hung them in a corner of our home.
A few weeks later, when the first pinheads appeared, it felt magical—even though we lost two beds to contamination.

When those tiny pinheads finally blossomed into mature mushrooms, it brought us a joy we hadn’t felt in a long time. That moment of happiness sparked curiosity—and curiosity quickly turned into obsession. We dove into research (thank you, YouTube!). A few weeks later, we built a tiny, primitive mushroom farm at home—fitted with cooling pads, exhaust fans, and everything we thought we’d need.
Then came the preparation of our own beds from scratch.
Instead of using traditional straw (വൈക്കോൽ), we chose to invest in an alternative substrate—a bit more expensive, yes, but absolutely worth it for the cleanliness, consistency, and ease of handling it offered. We wanted to do it right, even if it meant taking the slightly harder route.
About a month later, we harvested our first batch of fully homegrown oyster mushrooms.
The happiness? Beyond words.

At first, we shared the harvest with family and friends. But as the yield grew, we couldn’t keep up with the consumption—and, to our regret, some of it went to waste.
That’s when a simple thought changed everything:
“Why not share this with others who care about clean, honest food—just like we do?“
The Birth of Tayyib Crops
We began sharing photos on WhatsApp—just small glimpses of our harvests, the setup, and the joy we felt. Slowly, we connected with wonderful people who truly appreciated what we were doing.
Our dad watched it all unfold—the excitement of harvesting, the energy in packing fresh mushrooms, and the happiness of delivering something clean and honest to others. It was no longer just a hobby—it was becoming something meaningful.
One day, we asked him:
“Why only mushrooms? Why not the mangoes, jackfruit, supota, custard apples, vegetables—all the things you planted with love?”
That simple question sparked something.

And that’s when Tayyib Crops took shape.
